Renee Kire is an emerging artist of Australian and Māori descent, living and working in Magandjin/Brisbane, Australia. Her practice engages with feminist art history, drawing inspiration from overlooked female artists to develop contemporary approaches to minimalist sculpture. Through works both large and small in scale, she challenges traditionally male-dominated narratives with playful investigations of form, colour, and space, often inviting viewer interaction to complete the experience.

Renee graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art (Honours) from Queensland College of Art in 2022. She has held solo exhibitions at the Rockhampton Museum of Art, Onespace, Metro Arts, and Outer Space. She was recognised as a finalist in the 2023 Fisher’s Ghost Art Award and the 2021 National Graduate Showcase at PICA. Her work has also been exhibited at Buxton Contemporary, Brisbane Powerhouse, and Artisan. Her work is held in the Rockhampton Museum of Art collection.
