Renee Kire is an emerging artist of Australian and Māori descent, based in Meanjin (Brisbane), Australia. Her practice engages with feminist art history, drawing inspiration from overlooked female artists to develop new approaches to minimalist sculpture. Working across a range of scales, Kire challenges traditionally male-dominated narratives through playful investigations of form, colour, and space - often inviting viewer interaction to complete the experience.
Renee graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art (Honours) from Queensland College of Art in 2022. She has held solo exhibitions at the Rockhampton Museum of Art, Onespace, Metro Arts, and Outer Space. She was recognised as a finalist in the 2023 Fisher’s Ghost Art Award and the 2021 National Graduate Showcase at PICA. Her work has also been exhibited at Buxton Contemporary, Brisbane Powerhouse, and Artisan. She is part of the Rockhampton Museum of Art collection and private collections in Australia.
